Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met here Friday with his Saudi Arabian counterpart Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir on strengthening bilateral relations and settling the Syrian issue during the third ministerial-level meeting of the International Support Group for Syria. China attaches importance to the bilateral relations and is willing to strengthen comprehensive strategic cooperation with Saudi Arabia in various fields, Wang said. China has no selfish interests in the Middle East and has always adopted an objective and impartial stance, he said. Moreover, China is willing to strengthen communication with Saudi Arabia and make efforts to promote a political settlement of the Syrian and other hot issues, which is in line with the fundamental interests of the countries in the region and is conducive to world peace and stability, he added. Al-Jubeir said the two countries enjoy a strong relationship in the political, economic, security and other fields. The Saudi leadership and people regard China as a great country and close friend.
